Along the Blue Ridge Parkway, west of Charlottesville, sits the ECEF’s flagship wildlife habitat. The ECEF is proud to protect over 180 acres of pristine wilderness from urban encroachment. In 2016, the ECEF partnered with Land Trust of Virginia to protect this land in perpetuity.
The ECEF has set a goal of acquiring another 200 acres of undeveloped habitat in Virginia to conserve for future generations. The ECEF has donated to and worked on several conservation projects along coastal Virginia. These projects include the establishment of oyster reefs in the Chesapeake Bay and planting native wetland grasses to protect against erosion, just to name a few. We are excited to see what ecological opportunities await.
