OUR MISSION

The East Coast Environment Foundation (ECEF) is a Virginia Beach based non-profit foundation which strives to promote traditional conservation and cultivate harmony between nature and society.  The ECEF was the dream of Ohio born entrepreneur and environmentalist, James “Jim” D. Parker, who chose to make Virginia Beach his home.  

Established in 1992, Jim Parker founded the ECEF as a means of leaving the world a better place than he found it.  For almost 30 years, the ECEF still seeks to uphold Jim Parker’s vision by adhering to our core values of conservation, education and wildlife rehabilitation.
